White Tea and Muddled Basil Mojito

February 25, 2021
Basil White Tea Mojito
Jump to Recipe

Freshly brewed white tea, sweet honey and rum muddled with mint and basil, this deliciously refreshing mojito is the perfect way to usher in the spring.

I could not be more obsessed with this white tea and muddled basil mojito! It has a fresh-from-the-garden taste and a strong kick of citrus, which I love. Honey replaces sugar as the sweetener to this cocktail, which is great to kick back with this weekend.

White Tea and Muddled Basil Mojito

Servings 2

Ingredients

  • 2 white tea bags
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 2 limes
  • handful fresh mint leaves, plus more for garnish
  • handful fresh basil leavs, plus more for garnish
  • ice cubes
  • 2 ounces white rum
  • 1/2 cup sparkling water

Instructions

  1. Bring one cup of water to a boil in a small pot over high heat. Remove the pot from the heat. Add the tea bags, cover, and let steep for three minutes. Discard the tea bags and stir in the honey. Let it cool to room temperature.

  2. Meanwhile, quarter one lime. In each of two highball glasses, muddle two lime wedges, half the mint, and half the basil. Squeeze the juice form the remaining lime into each glass. Add a few large ice cubes, 1 ounce rum, 1/4 cup brewed tea, and 1/4 cup sparkling water. Stir, then garnish with mint and basil sprigs.
