Straw accessories are high on my list of favorites right now- the variety of textures and the neutral tones are an easy way to compliment any outfit. Surprisingly comfortable, these straw-based sandals, slides, wedges, hats, bags, totes and clutches are a definite season staple for spring and summer. The natural, sometimes imperfect look is a part of the charm, ranging from a whimsical vibe to a polished, classic style. Have fun mixing and matching with daytime dresses, relaxed weekend wear, or evening-out styles. I’ve brought out several of my favorite closet staples from last year just in time for spring and summer, like my panama hat, Soludos espadrilles, and woven straw bag (sold out, similar here). What are your favorite ways to add texture to an outfit?

I love reading your posts! But I am alittle confused you had wrote a post about how you could not afford all the luxury things that other. Bloggers could. I love many of your items but notice that many of the items you post have high price tags! And I for one certainly cannot afford. Lol but I guess what I am trying to ask is how expensive are the items that other bloggers post about?!?! Those shoes are adorable but 100$!? Are they worth it!?! Add in that I have a ft job in a pharmaceutical company might be why I cannot afford it, and you are probably some successful women.
Hi Tami!
Thanks so much for reading, I truly appreciate it! And I apologize for your confusion about the luxury products. For me, there’s a difference between splurging on something luxury (like the Tory Burch handbags), and then there’s investing in certain good quality pieces. The shoes for example! They are one of the most important items in your closet, because you’re on your feet all day long and need comfortable footwear. Did I NEED $100 espadrilles? No 😊 but, they are without a doubt (to me) one of the most comfortable pairs of shoes that I own, and something I’d saved up for! A lot of the higher priced items I have actually come from either eBay, Amazon, or I simply work hard and save up for them. As much as I’d love to be able to afford to go out and blow $600 on a dress, I just can’t afford it! And what you can and can’t afford is also different than someone else, because we’re all in a different financial situation; don’t ever feel bad or upset that you can’t afford something that someone else has! I know I’m guilty of that a lot, and I really need to try harder and not let it get to me. I’m very grateful that my parents raised me to work for what I want, so I’m proud of the things that I do have, because I worked for them myself. We all get envious of others, but that just leads to unhappiness! I guess what I’m trying to say is, many of the items I have I don’t consider luxury (and we all have different opinions) but I do own several luxury pieces and am very open about that. I really appreciate all of your feedback and I’m more than happy to start including more budget friendly options for y’all! 💕 it means so much to me that out of all the things you could have been doing, you chose to read what I have to say! I hope that answered your questions, and if you want to chat more, feel free to email me! 😊
Oh thank you for replying. I think it is so wonderful to be able to work hard for such wonderful things! I just bought my first ever Louis Vutton, that I’ve been saving up for. I totally agree with what you can afford and what you choose you can afford. I am very budget conscious! Lol. What do you do for a living? You travel alot on top of it all!! Where do you live; I know you’ve said the Boston area, where exactly?! I grew up in Wellesley, I recently moved to Washington State! Is Tory Burch your favorite brand? I see you have a lot of her bags! What attracts you to her products?
That’s awesome, good for you! Until very recently, I was working in a lab as a chemist, but I left that job to pursue this and take some more classes this summer. I also work a part time job. I usually never travel this much (though I love it) but this year I’ve had a lot going on so I’ve been very fortunate to be able to go on a lot of small little trips! And yes, Tory is one of my favorite brands! Many of her pieces are so classic and gorgeous- she categorizes her items as “attainable luxury” meaning it’s not cheap, but can be easier for people to afford over Gucci or Louis V. She also stands for several things that I’m passionate about: if you read my blog post Embracing Ambition with Tory Burch it explains more!
